Day by day
- Day 1 — Arrival and transfer to Kathmandu
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Clear immigration and baggage, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. The valley capital, where seven UNESCO monument zones stand within an hour of each other and the old city has not stopped being a working one. The rest of the day is free to settle in. Overnight in Kathmandu.

- Day 2 — Kathmandu: Pashupatinath temple on the Bagmati and its evening aarti
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Kathmandu — the Pashupatinath temple on the Bagmati and its evening aarti; the Boudhanath stupa and its kora at dusk; and the Swayambhunath monkey temple above the valley. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Kathmandu.

- Day 3 — Kathmandu to Rara Lake
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Rara Lake — a flight to Nepalgunj, a second to Talcha and a three-hour walk. The largest lake in Nepal at 2,990 m, inside a national park in Mugu that few travellers reach. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Rara lake circuit walk and the Murma Top viewpoint. Overnight in Rara Lake.

- Day 4 — Rara Lake: Blue pine and juniper forest of Rara National Park
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Rara Lake — the blue pine and juniper forest of Rara National Park; the Jhyari and Murma villages on the ridge; and the Rara lake circuit walk and the Murma Top viewpoint. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Rara Lake.

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Time for any last shopping before your transfer to Nepalgunj Airport for the onward flight. The tour ends here, and we hope it is not your last visit to Nepal.

Exclusions
- International airfare to and from Kathmandu, and airport taxes on it.
- Monument, national park and conservation area entrance fees, TIMS cards and trekking permits — quoted on request or paid direct.
- On a trekking package: the licensed trekking guide and porters, their wages, insurance and equipment. These are quoted separately, because they are priced per walking day and not per night.
- A separate accompanying city guide; the driver is not a licensed guide.
- Nepal visa fee on arrival and travel insurance, which must cover helicopter evacuation on any trekking package.
- Optional activities not named in the programme — the Everest scenic flight, paragliding, ultralight, bungee, rafting, jungle safaris and elephant-back rides.
- Meals other than those stated, hot showers and device charging on trek, bottled and alcoholic drinks, laundry and personal expenses.
- Tips for guides, porters and drivers.
- Extra nights, transport and meals caused by a delayed or cancelled mountain flight, which is a weather decision and not a schedule one.
- Anything arising from circumstances outside our control — landslide, strike, weather, or a change of permit rules.
