Day by day

  1. Day 1 — Arrival and transfer to Kathmandu

    Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Clear immigration and baggage, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. The valley capital, where seven UNESCO monument zones stand within an hour of each other and the old city has not stopped being a working one. The rest of the day is free to settle in. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  2. Day 2 — Kathmandu: Pashupatinath temple on the Bagmati and its evening aarti

    Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Kathmandu — the Pashupatinath temple on the Bagmati and its evening aarti; the Boudhanath stupa and its kora at dusk; and the Swayambhunath monkey temple above the valley. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  3. Day 3 — Kathmandu to Lukla

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Lukla — a 35-minute mountain flight to the Tenzing-Hillary airstrip. The 2,840 m airstrip that begins and ends every Everest trek, cut into a hillside above the Dudh Koshi. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Tenzing-Hillary airstrip and the Pasang Lhamu gate. Overnight in Lukla.

  4. Day 4 — Lukla to Namche Bazaar

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Namche Bazaar — a six-hour walk up the Dudh Koshi to 3,440 m. The Sherpa capital at 3,440 m, a horseshoe of houses above the river and the acclimatisation stop nobody skips. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Everest view from the Syangboche ridge and the Everest View Hotel. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

  5. Day 5 — Namche Bazaar: Sherpa Culture Museum and the Saturday market

    Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Namche Bazaar — the Sherpa Culture Museum and the Saturday market; the Khumjung monastery and its Hillary school; and the Everest view from the Syangboche ridge and the Everest View Hotel. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

  6. Day 6 — Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Tengboche — a five-hour walk along the ridge to 3,860 m. The great monastery of the Khumbu at 3,860 m, with Ama Dablam filling the window behind it. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Tengboche monastery and its afternoon prayers. Overnight in Tengboche.

  7. Day 7 — Tengboche to Dingboche

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Dingboche — a five-hour walk up the Imja valley to 4,410 m. A stone-walled barley village at 4,410 m in the Imja valley, and the second acclimatisation stop of the trek. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the acclimatisation walk up Nangkartshang for the Makalu view. Overnight in Dingboche.

  8. Day 8 — Dingboche: Imja valley and the Island Peak wall

    Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Dingboche — the Imja valley and the Island Peak wall; the Chhukhung ridge walk; and the acclimatisation walk up Nangkartshang for the Makalu view. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Dingboche.

  9. Day 9 — Dingboche to Gorak Shep

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Gorak Shep — two walking days by way of Lobuche to 5,164 m. The last settlement before the glacier at 5,164 m, a sand flat below Kala Patthar. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, Everest Base Camp on the Khumbu glacier. Overnight in Gorak Shep.

  10. Day 10 — Gorak Shep to Kathmandu

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Kathmandu — a helicopter lift out by way of Lukla. The valley capital, where seven UNESCO monument zones stand within an hour of each other and the old city has not stopped being a working one. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, Kathmandu Durbar Square and the Kumari house. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  11. Day 11 — Kathmandu — departure

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Time for any last shopping before your transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu for the onward flight. The tour ends here, and we hope it is not your last visit to Nepal.
