Day by day

1. Day 1 — Arrival and transfer to Ubud

   Arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar. Clear immigration and baggage, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Ubud. The cultural heart of Bali in the foothills — rice terraces, a palace, a monkey forest and a gallery or a gamelan on every lane. The rest of the day is free to settle in. Overnight in Ubud.

2. Day 2 — Ubud: Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Ubud — the Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley; the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and the Ubud Palace; and the Tirta Empul holy water temple and Goa Gajah. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Ubud.

3. Day 3 — Ubud to Amed

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Amed — a two-and-a-half-hour drive to the north-east coast. A string of black-sand fishing coves under Mount Agung, and the calmest diving in Bali. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the USAT Liberty wreck dive or snorkel at Tulamben. Overnight in Amed.

4. Day 4 — Amed: Jemeluk bay coral garden and the traditional jukung boats

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Amed — the Jemeluk bay coral garden and the traditional jukung boats; a sunrise over Mount Rinjani from the Amed shore; and the USAT Liberty wreck dive or snorkel at Tulamben. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Amed.

5. Day 5 — Amed to Gili Trawangan

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Gili Trawangan — a transfer to Padang Bai and a ninety-minute fast boat. The largest of the three Gilis — no cars, no motorbikes, a reef a few strokes offshore and a sunset side everyone walks to. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, snorkelling the Gili reef with green turtles. Overnight in Gili Trawangan.

6. Day 6 — Gili Trawangan: Underwater statues at Nest Point

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Gili Trawangan — the underwater statues at Nest Point; a cycle circuit of the island and the sunset swings; and a boat hop to Gili Meno and Gili Air. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Gili Trawangan.

7. Day 7 — Gili Trawangan: Snorkelling the Gili reef with green turtles

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Gili Trawangan — snorkelling the Gili reef with green turtles; the underwater statues at Nest Point; and a cycle circuit of the island and the sunset swings. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Gili Trawangan.

8. Day 8 — Gili Trawangan — departure

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Time for any last shopping before your transfer to Lombok International Airport for the onward flight. The tour ends here, and we hope it is not your last visit to Indonesia.
