- Day 1 — Arrival and transfer to Kuta
Arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar. Clear immigration and baggage, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Kuta. The original Bali beach town, ten minutes from the airport — a long surf beach, a night-market of a main street and everything open late. The rest of the day is free to settle in. Overnight in Kuta.

- Day 2 — Kuta: Kuta beach at sunset and a first surf lesson
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Kuta — Kuta beach at sunset and a first surf lesson; the Tanah Lot sea temple for the evening ceremony; and Waterbom Bali and the Beachwalk shopping promenade. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Kuta.

- Day 3 — Kuta to Ubud
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Ubud — a 40 km, ninety-minute drive inland. The cultural heart of Bali in the foothills — rice terraces, a palace, a monkey forest and a gallery or a gamelan on every lane. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley. Overnight in Ubud.

- Day 4 — Ubud: Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and the Ubud Palace
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Ubud — the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and the Ubud Palace; the Tirta Empul holy water temple and Goa Gajah; and the Campuhan ridge walk at first light. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Ubud.

- Day 5 — Ubud: Balinese cooking class and the Ubud art market
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Ubud — a Balinese cooking class and the Ubud art market; the Tegenungan waterfall and a coffee plantation tasting; and the Neka Art Museum and an evening Legong dance. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Ubud.

- Day 6 — Ubud to Nusa Dua
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Nusa Dua — a ninety-minute drive south. The gated resort enclave of southern Bali — calm reef-protected water, manicured lawns and a walking promenade. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Nusa Dua beach promenade and the Water Blow. Overnight in Nusa Dua.

- Day 7 — Nusa Dua: Bali Collection shops and the Museum Pasifika
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Nusa Dua — the Bali Collection shops and the Museum Pasifika; the Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park; and the Uluwatu temple and the Kecak fire dance. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Nusa Dua.

- Day 8 — Nusa Dua — departure
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Time for any last shopping before your transfer to Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar for the onward flight. The tour ends here, and we hope it is not your last visit to Indonesia.

- A separate accompanying guide; the driver is not a licensed guide.
- Indonesia visa on arrival, the Bali tourist levy and travel insurance.
- Optional tours and activities not named in the programme — diving courses, water sports, spa and cooking classes.
- Meals other than those stated, room service, alcoholic and bottled beverages, laundry and personal expenses.
- Compulsory Gala Dinner supplements over Christmas Eve, New Year Eve and Nyepi period surcharges.
- Nyepi, the Balinese day of silence, closes the island and the airport for 24 hours; nothing operates that day.
- Early check-in or late check-out unless confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
- Anything arising from circumstances outside our control — flight or fast-boat cancellation, swell, volcanic activity or a change of government levy.
