- Day 1 — Arrival and transfer to Ubud
Arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar. Clear immigration and baggage, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Ubud. The cultural heart of Bali in the foothills — rice terraces, a palace, a monkey forest and a gallery or a gamelan on every lane. The rest of the day is free to settle in. Overnight in Ubud.

- Day 2 — Ubud: Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Ubud — the Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley; the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and the Ubud Palace; and the Tirta Empul holy water temple and Goa Gajah. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Ubud.

- Day 3 — Ubud to Kintamani
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Kintamani — a fifty-minute climb to the caldera rim. The rim of the Batur caldera, looking across the lake at an active volcano, with the coldest air on the island. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Mount Batur sunrise trek. Overnight in Kintamani.

- Day 4 — Kintamani to Munduk
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Munduk — a two-hour drive west along the highland road. A clove-growing village high in the north-west hills, above the twin lakes and the cloud line. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Ulun Danu Beratan lake temple. Overnight in Munduk.

- Day 5 — Munduk: Munduk and Banyumala twin waterfalls
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Munduk — the Munduk and Banyumala twin waterfalls; the twin lakes viewpoint over Buyan and Tamblingan; and the Jatiluwih UNESCO rice terraces. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Munduk.

- Day 6 — Munduk to Lovina
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Lovina — a ninety-minute descent to the north coast. The black-sand north coast, where the boats go out before dawn to find dolphins. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the dawn dolphin boat off Lovina. Overnight in Lovina.

- Day 7 — Lovina: Banjar hot springs and the Brahma Vihara Arama monastery
Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Lovina — the Banjar hot springs and the Brahma Vihara Arama monastery; the Gitgit and Sekumpul waterfalls; and the dawn dolphin boat off Lovina. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Lovina.

- Day 8 — Lovina — departure
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Time for any last shopping before your transfer to Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar for the onward flight. The tour ends here, and we hope it is not your last visit to Indonesia.

- A separate accompanying guide; the driver is not a licensed guide.
- Indonesia visa on arrival, the Bali tourist levy and travel insurance.
- Optional tours and activities not named in the programme — diving courses, water sports, spa and cooking classes.
- Meals other than those stated, room service, alcoholic and bottled beverages, laundry and personal expenses.
- Compulsory Gala Dinner supplements over Christmas Eve, New Year Eve and Nyepi period surcharges.
- Nyepi, the Balinese day of silence, closes the island and the airport for 24 hours; nothing operates that day.
- Early check-in or late check-out unless confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
- Anything arising from circumstances outside our control — flight or fast-boat cancellation, swell, volcanic activity or a change of government levy.
