Day by day
- Day 1 — Haridwar to Barkot via Mussoorie
Meet your driver in Haridwar early in the morning and set off for the Yamuna valley. The road runs through Dehradun and climbs to Mussoorie, where you can pause for tea and a look across the Doon valley before continuing past Kempty Falls. From here the drive follows the hillside down to Nainbagh and then along the Yamuna river gorge, with the water running green below the road for much of the way. Arrive at Barkot by late afternoon, check in, and keep the evening free — a short walk through the small bazaar or simply rest, as tomorrow is an early and long day. Your driver will brief you on the departure time for Janki Chatti. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Barkot.
Overnight: Barkot
- Day 2 — Barkot – Janki Chatti – Yamunotri Darshan – Barkot
An early start after breakfast, or with a packed breakfast if you leave before the kitchen opens. Drive along the Yamuna to Janki Chatti, the road head for Yamunotri, where the vehicle parks and the trek begins. The climb to the temple is about 5–6 km on a paved but steep path; ponies and palanquins are available at the base for those who would rather not walk, and can be arranged locally on the spot. At the top, bathe or dip your hands in the hot springs of Surya Kund, offer rice tied in muslin to cook in the boiling water as prasad, pay your respects at the Divya Shila, and take darshan of Goddess Yamuna at the temple. After spending time at the shrine, begin the descent to Janki Chatti — most groups are back at the road head by mid to late afternoon. Drive back to Barkot, with a stop at Kharsali below Janki Chatti if time allows, to see the old Someshwar Mahadev temple and the winter seat of the Goddess. Dinner and overnight at Barkot.

- Day 3 — Barkot to Haridwar — departure
After breakfast, check out and begin the return journey down the Yamuna valley. The road retraces yesterday's route through Nainbagh and back up to Mussoorie, where a stop for lunch and a last view of the hills is easy to fit in, then descends through Dehradun to the plains. Arrive in Haridwar by evening, in time for onward train or road connections. Should you have hours in hand, your driver can drop you near Har Ki Pauri for the Ganga Aarti before your departure. Tour ends on arrival at Haridwar.
