Day by day

1. Day 1 — Arrival and transfer to Ubud

   Arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar. Clear immigration and baggage, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Ubud. The cultural heart of Bali in the foothills — rice terraces, a palace, a monkey forest and a gallery or a gamelan on every lane. The rest of the day is free to settle in. Overnight in Ubud.

2. Day 2 — Ubud: Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Ubud — the Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley; the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and the Ubud Palace; and the Tirta Empul holy water temple and Goa Gajah. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Ubud.

3. Day 3 — Ubud to Candidasa

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Candidasa — a 60 km, ninety-minute drive east. A quiet east-coast village of lotus lagoons, the old Bali Aga country behind it and the Padang Bai jetty next door. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Tirta Gangga water palace. Overnight in Candidasa.

4. Day 4 — Candidasa: Taman Ujung water palace and the Bali Aga village of Tenganan

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Candidasa — the Taman Ujung water palace and the Bali Aga village of Tenganan; the Lempuyang temple and its gate of heaven; and the white-sand beach at Virgin Beach and the Padang Bai coves. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Candidasa.

5. Day 5 — Candidasa to Sanur

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Sanur — a ninety-minute drive down the coast. The sunrise side of Bali — a lagoon behind a reef, a five-kilometre beach path and the fast-boat jetty for the Nusa islands. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Sanur beach path at sunrise and the Le Mayeur museum. Overnight in Sanur.

6. Day 6 — Sanur: Bali Orchid Garden and the Sindhu morning market

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Sanur — the Bali Orchid Garden and the Sindhu morning market; a fast-boat day to Nusa Penida or Nusa Lembongan; and the Bajra Sandhi monument in nearby Denpasar. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Sanur.

7. Day 7 — Sanur — departure

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Time for any last shopping before your transfer to Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar for the onward flight. The tour ends here, and we hope it is not your last visit to Indonesia.
