Day by day
- Day 1 — Dehradun — Kathgodam — Mukteshwar
Begin the journey early from Dehradun, where the driver meets the group at the agreed airport, railway station, hotel or city pickup point. After loading the luggage, proceed towards the Kumaon region. The first section follows the plains, passing towns, agricultural landscapes and highway stretches before reaching the foothill gateway of Kathgodam. Take breakfast, lunch and comfort breaks at suitable places en route. Lunch and refreshments are payable directly. After Kathgodam, the road begins its ascent into the Kumaon hills. The landscape gradually changes to forested slopes, winding mountain roads, small bazaars and scenic valley curves. Continue towards Mukteshwar, known for its cool climate, orchards, pine and oak forests and peaceful mountain atmosphere. Arrival is expected by late afternoon or evening, depending on traffic and road conditions. Check in at the pre-arranged orchard-side or forest-side accommodation. The evening is intentionally kept relaxed after the long drive. Guests may enjoy fresh mountain air, sit in the garden, read, take photographs or walk briefly around the property when daylight and local conditions permit. Avoid venturing onto isolated forest paths after dark without local guidance. Return to the property for dinner and overnight stay in Mukteshwar. Temperatures can drop sharply after sunset, so keep a light jacket or warm layer accessible.
Overnight: Mukteshwar
- Day 2 — Mukteshwar Forest Walks, Temple Visit & Chauli Ki Jali Sunset
After breakfast, begin a slow-paced exploration of Mukteshwar's natural and spiritual surroundings. The programme is designed around gentle walking rather than rushed sightseeing. Start with an easy nature walk through oak and pine forest sections, orchard paths and nearby village lanes. The exact walking route depends on the property's location, weather and local accessibility. Seasonal apple, peach, plum or apricot orchards may be seen across the landscape. Fruit availability depends on the month of travel, and entry into private orchards requires the owner's permission. Guests should not pluck fruit without approval. A guided orchard interaction may be arranged locally when available and may involve an additional charge. Proceed to the Mukteshwar Temple area, an important Shiva shrine situated on a hilltop. Reaching the temple involves steps and walking from the nearest vehicle point. Spend time for darshan and enjoy the surrounding mountain atmosphere. Temple access and photography remain subject to local customs and operating conditions. Continue towards Chauli Ki Jali, a dramatic cliffside viewpoint near the temple area. The rocky edge offers panoramic valley views and is known for sunset photography. Visitors must remain behind safe boundaries, supervise children carefully and avoid climbing exposed rock sections without professional adventure support. Subject to clear weather, enjoy the evening light over the Kumaon valleys. Sunset and Himalayan views cannot be guaranteed because of clouds, rain or haze. Return to the accommodation before dark. The remainder of the evening is free for reading, writing, photography or quiet time at the property. Enjoy dinner and a second overnight stay in Mukteshwar.
Overnight: Mukteshwar
- Day 3 — Mukteshwar — Orchard Route — Ramgarh Village Retreat
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning before checking out from the Mukteshwar property. Begin the short and scenic drive towards Ramgarh through orchard country, forested slopes and small Kumaoni villages. The short transfer allows the day to remain unhurried. Ramgarh is known for its quiet surroundings, fruit plantations and literary associations. It has long attracted writers, poets, artists and travellers seeking solitude. On arrival, check in at the selected orchard-view accommodation and settle into the peaceful setting. Spend the afternoon exploring nearby village lanes, fruit plantations and forest paths at a comfortable pace. The exact route should be selected according to weather, walking ability and local guidance. Guests may interact respectfully with residents, observe traditional homes and learn about seasonal orchard life when such experiences are available. The open landscapes and silence of Ramgarh are ideal for reading, journaling, sketching, photography or simply resting on the property. Fruit-picking, orchard meals or village-guide experiences are not automatically included and should be reconfirmed separately. Return to the accommodation by evening. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in Ramgarh.
Overnight: Ramgarh
- Day 4 — Ramgarh — Forested Slopes — Bhimtal Lake Retreat
After breakfast, check out from the Ramgarh accommodation and begin the gradual descent towards Bhimtal. The route passes terraced fields, forested slopes, small settlements and changing valley views. Short photography stops may be taken at safe points according to traffic and parking availability. Arrive in Bhimtal and check in at the selected hotel near the lake. Bhimtal offers a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere than nearby Nainital, making it suitable for a peaceful final evening of the tour. Spend the afternoon walking along accessible sections of the lakeside promenade, relaxing near the water or exploring the nearby market. Guests may opt for boating at their own cost through an authorised operator. Boating depends on weather, water conditions, operating hours and local safety rules. Life jackets must be worn as instructed. Additional local attractions or café visits may be considered if time permits, but sightseeing not mentioned in the package may involve extra transport or entry charges. Guests preferring a slower experience may simply rest at the property and enjoy lake views. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Bhimtal.
Overnight: Bhimtal
- Day 5 — Bhimtal — Kathgodam — Dehradun Departure
After breakfast, check out from the Bhimtal hotel and begin the return journey to Dehradun. Descend towards Kathgodam and continue through the plains. The day involves a long road journey, so an early departure is recommended. Take short refreshment, lunch and comfort breaks at suitable points en route. Lunch and beverages are payable directly. Travel time may increase because of city traffic, road work, weekend movement or weather conditions. Arrive in Dehradun by evening and receive the final drop at the agreed airport, railway station, hotel or city location. Guests should avoid tightly timed onward connections and maintain a reasonable buffer. The Kumaon Village and Lake Retreat concludes with peaceful memories of orchards, forest paths, village landscapes and Bhimtal's calm waters.
